Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the firstborn son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed Archie in May 2019, twelve months after tying the knot.
The couple paid tribute to Harry’s overdue mother, Princess Diana, with Archie’s title. Archibald Campbell, ninth Earl of Argyll, from Scotland used to be one of her ancestors. Harrison method “son of Harry,” whilst Mountbatten was once the surname of the past due Prince Philip’s overdue uncle Louis Mountbatten.
Upon his birth, Archie became seventh in line for the British crown following his grandfather, Prince Charles, uncle Prince William, cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and his father.
After Harry and Meghan stepped back from their duties as senior royals in March 2020, the family relocated to California. Archie was a big brother to sister Lilibet “Lili” Diana in June 2021.
