Billie Eilish Announces New Fragrance, Says It Smells Like Metal

May 2024 · 3 minute read

A new perfume from Billie Eilish is coming — and the odor is little short of abnormal.

The singer-songwriter, 21, announced via Instagram on Thursday, September 28, that her third fragrance, Eilish No. 3, is launching this November.

“Introducing Eilish No. 3! My first restricted version fragrance & the last on this assortment,” she wrote along a photograph of the perfume bottle, a crimson chrome bust of herself that follows the same design as her first two launches.

The expose brought about fanatics on social media to speculate about the future of the Eilish perfumes. While some puzzled whether this could be her ultimate fragrance product, others guessed that it might be the remaining in this particular collection, with more collections to return.

Eilish No. 1 was once launched in 2021 and lines notes of sugared petals, creamy vanilla and musk. Eilish No. 2, which dropped in 2022, has notes of apple blossom, wild poppy flowers and palo santo. Eilish’s latest perfume, on the other hand, seems to have the most interesting scent profile but.

In an interview with Allure mag printed on Thursday, Eilish commented on the unique steel odor.

“I really like that it reminds me of metal,” she informed the e-newsletter. “If you combined Eilish No. 1 and No. 2, you’d have this sweeter, extra romantic model.”

While the authentic smell notes have not begun to be shared, Eilish’s emojis in her Instagram post — as well as the deep purple packaging — recommend that Eilish No. Three will even have a cherry scent.

Along along with her third fragrance, fans are eagerly awaiting a third album. Eilish temporarily satisfied fans with the viral ballad she wrote along side her brother, Finneas, for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film, “What Was I Made For?”

In her interview with Allure, Eilish unfolded about the process of writing the heartfelt music. “It used to be as though this music was once a tiny creature within me for years, scratching the inside of me,” she said.

Reflecting on the tune’s inception, Eilish confessed that she and Finneas “couldn’t were much less inspired and less ingenious” once they began writing. “That day we had been making stuff, and have been like, ‘We’ve misplaced it. Why are we even doing this?’” she said. “And then the ones first chords happened, and ‘I used to flow / now I simply fall down’ came out and the track wrote itself. I've the whole video people writing the music, and the very first thing we wrote were those strains in the first 10 mins.”

Eilish continued, “We wrote most of the track with out fascinated about ourselves and our personal lives, but eager about this character we had been inspired through. A couple of days went by means of, and I noticed it was once about me. It’s everything I believe. And it’s no longer simply me — everybody feels like that, eventually.”
