The Fab Five on Netflix’s Queer Eye virtually had an overly other dynamic, in step with chef Stuart O’Keeffe.

“Back after they had been casting, I went for the display way back when, and I in fact were given selected. Like, I used to be some of the [Fab] Five and in fact got chosen,” he claimed all through the Wednesday, March 13, episode of his “Don’t Let It Stu” podcast. “I used to be in one crew of 5 and Antoni [Porowski] was once within the other. So, like, A and B. They came in and [said], ‘You’re the Fab Five.’ I used to be like, ‘Holy s—t,’ and I used to be like — all of us went outdoor the room, like, screaming, jumping up and down — I used to be like, ‘Hey, let’s get a photograph [because] that is this sort of nice moment for us all.’”

O’Keeffe, 33, claimed that he was once set to famous person in Netflix’s reboot along Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Tan France and Bobby Berk. O’Keefe would have handled the culinary aspects of the makeover display instead of Porowski, 39.

One month after the alleged casting, O’Keeffe still had but to receive an authentic contract or information about filming dates.

“I’m speaking to the other guys. I’m like, ‘Hey, have you were given your contract?’ [They mentioned], ‘Yes, now we have,’ and I’m like, ‘Hey what’s going on?’ and [manufacturing] is like, ‘We’re operating on it, we’re running on,’” he endured. “I’m like, ‘OK, that’s high quality,’ like, no matter. Cut to all of us cross to dinner. Tan doesn’t cross to dinner with me, so the other four do, and I’m like, ‘Why is he now not coming to dinner?’ I’m like, ‘Something’s up [and] any person is aware of something.’”

O’Keeffe recalled being instructed to return into the Netflix studio for every other round of auditions with studio executives about one week later. He was subsequently “pulled out” of the Fab Five, and Porowski got “pulled in.” (Netflix has now not publicly addressed O’Keefe’s version of events. Us Weekly has reached out for remark.)

“I by no means crossed paths with [Antoni]. He used to be there, clearly, in point of fact nice man … like, legitimately. Like, me, Bobby and Karamo just get on well like loopy,” O’Keeffe added. “JVN was a little extra, like, he’s off to his personal. Like, he knew he was once a star. And then Tan was once simply more or less bizarre, but he used to be roughly on his own too.”

O’Keeffe claimed that he discovered in regards to the recasting by way of Instagram, which he called a “in reality s—ty” method of studying he was axed from Queer Eye.

“The production company sought after me on the display ‘reason I’d labored with Harbor sooner than I’d executed other presentations with them,” he said. “They were like, ‘You’ll be perfect for this [and] you have a cookbook out, all of it ties in completely.’ I was like, ‘This is excellent. I’m super excited, that is superior,’ after which … my agent referred to as me [and] he’s like, ‘Look, I know this sounds totally roughly s—ty, but they mentioned that you simply type have accomplished too much stuff.’”

O’Keefe persevered: “I used to be on the Today show, I used to be on Rachel Ray … because I had a cookbook out and I’d executed multiple presentations prior to and where the other four hadn’t so … they roughly need everybody to be on the same stage. I used to be like, ‘OK, that’s kind of a lame excuse however, like, wonderful I assume.’ I guess I’ll take it, but the worst section was I came upon on Instagram that I didn’t get it.”

Porowski has been the resident “food man” since Queer Eye premiered on Netflix in 2018.

After seven seasons of the docuseries, rumors of behind-the-scenes drama began swirling. Berk, 42, forged the primary stone in November 2023 when he stated that season Eight would be his remaining. Us later showed that Berk’s go out was related to an offscreen conflict together with his costars. Fellow internal fashion designer Jeremiah Brent will fill Berk’s shoes for the imminent season 9.

Weeks later, Van Ness, 36, used to be accused of mistreating crew members and fostering a poisonous atmosphere. Van Ness has yet to deal with the drama. (Us previously reached out for comment.)
