David Spade Spends $900K on Restored Version of Joe Dirt Car

May 2024 · 2 minute read

Talk about wheels of fortune! David Spade simply added a prized piece to his automotive collection: a slick, shiny, absolutely restored version of the car he drove in 2001’s Joe Dirt.

The new-old ride — a copper-toned ’69 Dodge Daytona with a pristine white racing spoiler — was once up on the market at Mecum Auctions in Kissimmee, Fla., a source tells Us Weekly. Spade, 50, paid $900,000 for it.

“He beloved the car from Joe Dirt, and he felt like he needed it with the sequel [arising],” the insider tells Us. (Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will be released by means of Crackle later this year.)

Spade’s type, of course, is in significantly better condition than the one within the movie, which used to be rusted, lacking headlights, and in dire need of a paint task.

“I don’t even know if I will be able to pressure this car around,” the Rules of Engagement big name tells Us solely of his purchase. “It’s too nice for me. I’m just going to get up each and every morning and spray it with Armor All. Or I’ll simply pressure it to the Beverly Center and stand on the hood.”

Spade has a couple of different automobiles in his collection, however nothing just like the Dodge Daytona. “I most definitely will have to have paid off my pupil loans first,” he jokes. “I do have an ’87 Grand National. That’s my simplest different car like that, but it’s a pile. That’s the only different nice one I have. Now I have a closed-up store.”
