Bickering exes? Jane Seymour and her Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman costar Joe Lando didn’t get alongside all over the show’s filming because it was once right once they dated.
“We didn’t in fact communicate to each other, other than in discussion or making out for approximately six or seven years,” Seymour informed Us Weekly solely on the Creative Arts Emmys Night 2 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on September 15. She added that it used to be a “difficult” and a “difficult” time.
Seymour, 68, portrayed name character Dr. Michaela “Mike” Quinn and Lando, 57, performed her love pastime, Byron Sully. While the onscreen chemistry sizzled, the actress mentioned the celebs were dealing with a post-breakup awkwardness. The former couple dated during the filming of the pilot episode in 1992.
“We, clearly, obviously beloved one any other and realized we couldn’t be if truth be told in real-life in combination. I believe we just played it [off] as Michaela and Sully,” the Wedding Crashers big name informed Us.
Seymour mentioned their offscreen issues would possibly have given Michaela and Byron some additional “sexual rigidity, that we wouldn’t have had, if we’d been taking part in glad families or something.”
The former costars started courting in an unconventional manner.
“There used to be a flash flood, at the set, a real one, through which my automobile was once being swept backwards, and I couldn’t get out, since the guy who was once using it was an intern and did not need me out of the auto,” she recalled to Us. “I wound down the window and jumped out of that automotive into his truck. That was once the beginning of a fantastic courting.”
Now, Seymour counts the actor as her “closest buddy on this planet.”
She finalized her divorce from her fourth husband, James Keach, in 2015. Lando has been married to Kirsten Barlow since 1997.
As for a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman reboot, Seymour stated everyone involved in the display would have an interest as a result of they were a tight-knit team — even with the display’s guest stars.

“We’re all in reality good buddies. It was once one of those shows the place the crew never left. Everybody, visitor stars kept begging to return again. Johnny Cash and June just begged to return again all the time. They got here again 3 times. Willie Nelson, two or three times, even Mr. Rogers used to be on our show. No, it was once a fantastic display,” Seymour mentioned.
