Eminem’s estranged father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., has died, Us Weekly confirms. He used to be 67.

Bruce, as he went by means of, died previous this week after struggling a center attack at his home close to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in keeping with TMZ, which used to be first to record the scoop.

Eminem, 46, were estranged from his dad for his whole life. The rapper’s mom, Debbie Nelson Mathers, married Bruce in 1970, and so they welcomed Eminem (real title Marshall Bruce Mathers III) two years later. The couple broke up quickly after their son was born. Bruce left the circle of relatives in Detroit and moved to California, the place he later had two extra kids, Michael and Sarah.

Debbie, 64, instructed Rolling Stone in 1999 that Eminem wrote and mailed a couple of letters to Bruce as an adolescent, but they came again marked “go back to sender.” In the similar interview, the 15-time Grammy winner informed the mag that he heard his dad have been “trying to get involved” with him once he turned into well-known.

I’m no longer concerned about his money. I simply need to communicate to him. I would like him to grasp that I’m here for him if he shall we me again into my existence.”

Eminem has been brutally fair in several of his hit singles about his father forsaking him as an infant. In 2002’s “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” he rapped, “I wonder whether he even kissed me goodbye / No, I don’t, on 2nd thought, I just f–relations’ wanted he would die.”

Bruce is survived via his three children, Eminem, Michael and Sarah, and his grandchildren Alaina, Hailie and Whitney, who're Eminem’s 3 daughters.
