Every Star Who's Left 'Grey's Anatomy': Where Are They Now?

The night … used to be March 27, 2005. Television titan Shonda Rhimes knew what she had simply created — but audiences still had no thought.

The Grey’s Anatomy pilot presented a number of characters, including the show’s protagonist, legacy surgical resident Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). Spunky, undoubtedly intelligent and filled with heart, the display wouldn’t continue to exist without its titular character — but the ensemble is what keeps audience tuning in 15 years later.

That’s why it hits fanatics onerous every time a character will get the boot. Whether they’re killed off (as many Grey’s characters were) or just written out of the show, over a dozen of Seattle Grace’s/Seattle Grace Mercy West’s/Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital’s finest have left.

Most recently, Justin Chambers, who performed bad-boy resident grew to become compassionate pediatric surgeon grew to become leader of surgical procedure Alex Karev, announced his departure after 16 seasons.

“There’s no excellent time to say goodbye to a show and persona that’s defined so much of my existence for the previous 15 years,” the 49-year-old actor said in a remark to Us Weekly. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and profession choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive spouse and five superb kids, now is that point.”

Chambers thanked ABC, Rhimes and the unique solid of Grey’s “for the bizarre trip.” What’s even more stunning, regardless that, is that Karev doesn’t get a proper good-bye.

According to TVLine, the actor’s ultimate episode of the ABC series aired two months sooner than he showed he used to be leaving the show. Viewers may recall that Alex went to visit his unwell mother throughout the November 14 episode of the series. Chambers didn't seem within the midseason finale on November 21.
