No relaxation for Sebastian Stan! As Pam & Tommy wraps up on Hulu, the Marvel star has another project debuting on the streaming service: the new movie Fresh.
The Logan Lucky actor, 39, plays Steve, a captivating man who starts dating Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) after she tires of the relationship app roller-coaster. The duo’s romance is going neatly at first, but issues briefly get started to get bizarre. Though a trailer for the drama begins off like a typical rom-com, the clip later hints that Steve would possibly have a cannibalistic streak.
At one point, Noa asks Steve what’s going on and he replies, “I’m gonna inform you, however you’re gonna freak out.” When she protests, he provides in a voiceover: “It’s about giving. Giving your self over to any individual. Becoming one without end. That’s love.”
Despite the movie’s stunning turns, Stan wanted to sign up for the project as soon he found out that Edgar-Jones, 23, was involved. The Gossip Girl alum was an enormous fan after observing her paintings in the Hulu adaptation of Normal People.
“I simply emailed my agents in an instant and I said, ‘Please, can we have the opportunity to get the script? Can I meet on this? I’d love to know what this is about,’” the Romania native instructed IndieWire on Wednesday, March 2. “It used to be great studying the script, knowing that Daisy was going to be Noa, as a result of I believe that in reality informed a large number of how that experience used to be going to be. Daisy, to me, has this type of global weariness about her, this knowledge and intelligence that’s just very inherent to her.”
Edgar-Jones, for her section, used to be drawn to the movie’s commentary about online romance, even if she’s never used dating apps herself. “We store for each other. We scroll. ‘I don’t want that. I don’t want that,'” she instructed The Guardian in February, explaining how she helps her friends navigate the arena of contemporary relationships. “You go on the date and you almost certainly know throughout the first 30 seconds whether or not it’s proper. But you'll’t get out for at least two hours.”

Mimi Cave, who makes her directorial debut with Fresh, described the movie as “a classic boy-meets-girl mystery” when it premiered on the Sundance Film Festival in January. “I might also believe it a film about feminine friendships and a form of strange coming-of-age movie,” she informed Deadline on the time. “I felt like I had an opportunity to do one thing other and take an age-old tale and twist it, and chop it up, if you will.”
