Meant to be! Kelly Ripa’s 18-year-old daughter, Lola, is flourishing one month after starting her freshman year at New York University.
“She loves it,” the Live With Kelly and Ryan cohost, 49, said on the Tuesday, October 1, episode of the ABC display. “When she used to be a bit girl, like, Three years old, she used to play dorm room in her bedroom. First she performed sleepaway camp, then she performed dorm room. So this is, like, a lady who was meant to live away from us. She was once born to live out of doors of the home!”
The Emmy winner went on to inform her guest cohost Anderson Cooper that she didn’t truly “drop” Lola off. “She jumped out of a transferring car and was once like, ‘Bye, bye, bye,’” the New Jersey native defined.

After the teenager’s August 25 move-in, Ripa mentioned that she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, gained’t let Lola come home till the holidays — even supposing she still lives in New York.
“College is where you start establishing yourself as an unbiased individual, so while you ship your kid goes off to college and your child stays native … if she feels homesick, I've to say to her, ‘You can’t come home. You have to paintings it out,’” she instructed Ryan Seacrest previous this month on On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “I deal with it [like long-distance]. I did the similar thing for my son [Michael]. ‘You’re going to have to figure it out.’ My major fear was once, ‘I don’t know if you should be this close to home because I don’t want you the usage of home adore it’s your home. I want this to be your experience.’”

While the All My Children alum wrote on Instagram closing month that her “nest is getting roomy,” she and the Riverdale superstar, 48, nonetheless live with their 16-year-old son, Joaquin.
He and Lola had a troublesome time pronouncing goodbye in August, Ripa admitted. She shared emotional footage on her show of the siblings hugging, announcing, “I didn’t understand how shut they had been until it used to be time to say good-bye.”
