Meri Brown

Meri was legally married to Kody from 1990 to 2014, and remains to be spiritually married to him. However, she admitted in the trailer for season sixteen of Sister Wives, which premiered in November 2021, that she has “thought to be the whole lot” — together with leaving Kody — as their rocky relationship continues. The revelation came after she vowed that she wasn’t “going anyplace” in December 2020.

“I really like this man. 💙 I do not owe any person an explanation but I'll do it anyway. I'm neatly aware that we, as a family, have chosen to place ourselves 'in the market', which, in flip, brings about a wide variety of hypothesis, commentary, and critiques. But it comes down to this. My courting with him is MY relationship with him. Sure we've got had ups and downs through the years (I imply, isn't that reasonably customary?) High highs and coffee lows,” she wrote on the time. “But here is my reality. I like him. I like my family. I'm committed. I have 30 years on this. We fight. We keep in touch. We restore relationships because the parties concerned are willing and in a position. I'm an unbiased one that does her own thing. … I'm right here. I'm committed. I'm no longer going anyplace. Don't get your hopes up on that.”

After information of Kody and Christine’s split broke in November 2021, an insider claimed to Us that he and Meri have had “zero relationship” in recent years. “It’s all faux,” the source alleged. “They’re in combination for TV, necessarily.”

Meri and Kody’s ups and downs endured to be a tale line during season 17 of the collection, which premiered in September 2022. During an October 2022 episode, Meri published that Kody had steered she move to Utah to run her mattress and breakfast following her mother’s dying.

The thought of residing clear of him and their circle of relatives shocked the mummy of one. “I was listed here are the very beginning. I helped get started this family. It was once me and him and we had plans. He cherished me,” Meri said throughout a confessional whilst preserving back tears. “For him to simply be like, ‘Um, just go up there now.’ It didn’t make sense.”

Kody, meanwhile, advised the cameras, “The reason why I’m suggesting this to Meri is, truthfully, as a circle of relatives [it] doesn’t feel like we interact that a lot. I’m no longer even trying to push her away.”

During the season 17 finale, which aired in December 2022, Kody confessed he still didn’t need to fix his relationship with Meri. “It’s interesting listening to him talking about this and the parallels that [are] happening with him and Christine and me and him,” Meri defined all through a confessional. “It’s more or less disturbing as a result of probably the most things he’s pissed off about with Christine, he did with me. Oh, he desires to work on it with Christine, however not me.”

Kody, for his section, famous: "Ironically, Meri's trying to support me and I don't want to be in a relationship with her anymore."

During phase one of the season 17 Sister Wives: One-on-One special, Meri showed that she and Kody had been now not in combination, announcing, “he just made the decision” without soliciting for her input. She noted that while she felt like her former partner used to be “making an attempt” after they first moved to Arizona in 2018, their dating soon unraveled.

In January 2023, Kody and Meri launched a joint commentary announcing they determined to “permanently terminate” their marriage.
