The Percy Jackson and the Olympians ebook series is formally being tailored into a television show for Disney+.

“Hey Percy Jackson enthusiasts, for the previous decade, you’ve worked exhausting to champion a faithful on-screen adaptation of Percy Jackson’s world,” writer Rick Riordan introduced in a video via his website in May 2020. “Some of you may have even steered it might be a excellent series for Disney+. We couldn’t agree extra!”

The five-book series — printed between 2005 and 2009 — introduced enthusiasts to a 12-year-old Demigod named Percy Jackson, who discovers early on that he’s the son of the Greek God Poseidon. The novels were in the past adapted into a two-film series starring Logan Lerman as Percy, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood and Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase.

Over the years, the film adaptations were broadly criticized via fanatics of the book series and Rick himself. However, he informed The Guardian in October 2020 he and his wife, Becky Riordan, “owed it to the enthusiasts to check out another time” for a display screen adaptation.
