Richard Gere’s boys! The Pretty Woman famous person has lengthy gushed about raising sons with wife Alejandra Silva and ex-wife Carey Lowell.
“I never had a subject about children in some way,” Gere told The Guardian about fatherhood in a 2002 interview. “With Carey, she had a child from a previous marriage [daughter Hannah Dunne], and it was just a herbal thing, caring for this kid [and] having our personal kid. It was once totally spontaneous and right.”
Lowell — who welcomed her firstborn in April 1990 with ex-husband Griffin Dunne — and the Runaway Bride megastar expanded their family in February 2000, welcoming son Homer.
“I was meant to be within the supply room, however it was a C-section and that used to be disturbing,” Gere recalled to Hollywood.com in September 2000 of his eldest son’s arrival. “Homer is my father’s name, which pleases him a little bit. … [Carey and I] having the sort of nice time with our little boy.”
Lowell and Gere, who wed in 2002, ultimately separated nearly 11 years later. The Maybe I Do actor — who used to be prior to now married to Cindy Crawford between 1991 and 1995— later moved on with Silva. Us Weekly showed in 2018 that the duo had secretly wed in an intimate civil ceremony that April after three years of courting.
“I believe like I’m in a real fairy tale,” the political activist instructed Hello! magazine in March 2019 of their nuptials. “Without a doubt, I believe like the luckiest woman in the world. What might be extra romantic than a man who writes you songs each day?”
She persisted at the time: “He is the most humble, delicate, affectionate, attentive, humorous, generous man that I’ve ever met. What can I say? I’m so in love! How would you're feeling if each and every morning you have been requested, ‘What would make you satisfied lately?’ Not an afternoon goes by that he doesn’t point out how necessary I am to him. I believe very lucky.”
Silva — who coparents son Albert, born in December 2012, with ex-husband Govind Friedland — and the Shall We Dance? actor announced in August 2018 that they were expecting their first child in combination. Son Alexander was born in February 2019. Nearly three hundred and sixty five days later, the publicist gave birth to another baby boy. The couple’s 2nd kid in combination, whose name has now not been publicly shared, used to be born in April 2020.
Gere, Silva and their combined family primarily live a relatively private life at their Pound Ridge, New York, compound. Silva, for her section, has shared brief glimpses of her brood by means of her Instagram web page.
