Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko’s future is looking rosy after they were given engaged on The Bachelorette.
“I left [Dotun’s] last-chance date and that was once after I made that just government choice of like, ‘This is it,’” Charity exclusively told Us Weekly in August 2023 of the second she knew Dotun was The One. “And as we all know, I did have an excessively solid reference to Joey [Graziadei, my runner-up]. So leading up to the ones moments, a lot of things have been at play, various things have been moving and shifting every unmarried day.”
While Charity was in the past torn between Dotun and Joey, she ultimately sent the tennis pro home on proposal day. Dotun went on to pop the question with a Neil Lane sparkler.
“Charity, you’ve inspired me. You’ve shown me that a good factor can in point of fact simply be a just right thing,” Dotun gushed during his televised proposal in Fiji. “The love that we've got is easiest. And so, Miss Charity Lawson, would you do me the honor of turning this fairy story right into a truth?”

New York-based Dotun was once one of Charity’s suitors on season 20 of The Bachelorette. They shaped a direct connection after he shared his immigration story.
Back-to-Back Dates
Dotun used to be the only Bachelorette season 20 contestant to obtain two one-on-one dates — in successive weeks. One week once they bungee-jumped in Stevenson, Washington, Charity invited Dotun to run a marathon together with her in New Orleans.
Charity later advised Us in August 2023 that their first date was “life-changing.” She added: “Along the adventure has been beautiful, but I made [my final] choice at his final likelihood date.”
Hometown Sweeties
Dotun was once to begin with disheartened that his parents had been unavailable to attend his hometown date due to their prior to now scheduled vacation to Nigeria. Charity used to be set to satisfy her man’s siblings and grandmother before her long term in-laws made a marvel look. Dotun’s mom even proclaimed that if the marketing consultant was once Charity’s choice, she would host an elaborate Nigerian wedding.
Dotun and Charity’s families met for the first time in person — after “a variety of FaceTimes” — all over After The Final Rose in August 2023.
“They love every different! It’s been so fun,” the child and family therapist gushed to Us. “They’re just cutting up together, which is what we imagine would happen. .. He’s turn into so close with my brother as I imagined would occur. We’re clearly excited for the long run and can’t recover from this complete engagement and what’s to come.”
Soulmate Vibes
During Dotun’s ultimate date in Fiji, he offered Charity with a “scavenger hunt” in their Bachelorette adventure. The hunt concluded with a locket that had each and every in their child footage inside.
She Said Yes!
After Dotun proposed, Charity gave him her final rose. “You have made me really feel alive. You’ve made me consider in love again. You’ve made me feel so valued and so noticed,” she said during the episode. “And so, Dotun, when I stand right here in this second, I want a ceaselessly long term with you. I see you as my husband. I see you as my long run. I see it so obviously. I don’t have any doubts. I don’t question it.”

During the couple’s appearance on After the Final Rose, Dotun informed Charity that she was joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 32.
“We each mentioned it and it’s one thing that I didn’t in point of fact know was going to really happen, but he, obviously, is so supportive of it, which I like,” she told Us, noting Dotun would be relocating to California all the way through the dance competition. “And he’s my biggest fan, which is excellent to have that. … We’ll be doing it together. He simply gained’t be the one dancing. I’ll be up there, [however] he’ll be along.”
Charity added that Dotun will “all the time be my precedence” all through her stint in the ballroom.
